Black Thought x J. Period Live Mixtape
Years back, when I was touring regularly with Bahamadia, we put together a live-mixtape so to speak. The stage show had many of her iconic songs from her classic albums, Kollage and BB Queen plus I would throw tunes in there that weren't featured on any of her projects to mix it up in the way I would do on one of my classic tapes. I'd even do a 3 or 4 minute tribute to the artists that paved the way for her and educated the crowd in the process. Those were fun times. Fast forward to today. It's good to see these guys had a similar idea and executed it properly. The homie J. Period and the legendary Riq Geez aka Black Thought kill it with their live mixtape show. If you haven't heard any of J's mixtapes, you're losing at this thing called life. His James Brown tape is a game changer for all of us.
