Tonight I return to Kraftwork in Fishtown. I’m really digging the intimacy and vibe of this spot. Not to mention the fact that I get to dig deep into my music library every single Thursday. I will be posting mixes from the night shortly. Just need to edit them down so you’re not listening to 4 hours straight. Big up to all of my friends who’ve been coming out reguarly to hang, get a drink, a bite, and an earful of dopeness. Come out tonight and kick it with us.

Tomorrow night, I join my homies Emynd and B0-Bliz (White Ts & White Belts, So Special, Crossfaded Bacon) for their party at The Barbary, The BOUNCE. I’m looking forward to rockin with the homies. It’s been a long time coming. More details tomorrow afternoon.

What’s up y’all? Lots of fun last week for Beer Week at Kraftwork. In fact the whole weekend was bananas. From playing joints in Fishtown, DJing the B-Boy BBQ, getting soaked in the rainstorm with the homies at Odunde, to playing for an intimate but live crowd at Rhumba! Y’all got me workin out here! Love it.

Tonight, stop through and have a drink and a bite while I play all the joints you haven’t heard in a while, some of your favorites, and some new ish you haven’t even put your ears on yet. My hard drive and record bag are on fire. Kraftwork is becoming the new spot for regular people to hang and enjoy the vibe.

Tomorrow night, Vans is having an OTW launch party in Philly. I hear the event a couple weeks ago in LA was off the chain. I’m thrilled to be DJing the jawn at Ubiq tomorrow. Event starts at 7pm I believe so don’t miss it! More details tomorrow.

This is the spot where I get to play the stuff I like to groove to at the crib. I have total creative freedom so I get to enjoy playing rare grooves, soul samples, classic rock breaks, dope hip hop, and 80s funk. A bunch of stuff you’d most likely find in my lounge compilation series over the past 10 years. Plus the food is amazing and the beer selection is outrageous. Great to see all the fam come and hang out for a mellow Thursday.

This weekend is full for me between the Painted Bride 40 Year Anniversary, returning to the Walnut Room, doing the Sunday Soul Brunch event for the Kappas, and playing at Cheerleaders Sunday night. More info on all that tomorrow.

Finally Rest In Peace, Sabina Rose O’Donnell. I hope and pray her murderer(s) are brought to justice quickly.

Beginning this Friday, Fishtown will have the privilege of  patronizing a brand new restaurant/bar located at Montgomery & Girard Avenue. The new spot is called Kraftwork and lacks everything pretentious. The staff, decor, music, and vibe are all as down to earth as the owner Adam Ritter who also owns The Sidecar Bar & Grille in South Philly. Why am I telling you about it? Well because starting next week, I will be holding a weekly Thursday residency at the new spot. Musically, it will be up the alley of Mark Farina’s Mushroom Jazz. For those of you aren’t familiar, this means I’ll be pulling out those 4Hero records and mixing in some Dizzy Gillespie, Kev Brown, People Under The Stairs, and Nicola Conte. I haven’t played a regular set like this in a couple years now so I’m suped! I know a bunch of you who live down the street from Kraftwork so I can’t wait to have a bite and drink with you all and Christen the spot with some downtempo flavors. On Friday nights, my man Rob Paine will be doin his thing and on Saturday nights Botany 500 will be playing rock, soul, and funk mostly on vinyl. Fresh…
