There has been recent news all over about Kool Herc’s medical condition and the fact that he didn’t have enough money to cover his surgery. Well from what I understand, Russell Simmons and other industry folks, lent quite a helping hand and covered all of his bills. Before that took place, King Britt and the folks from Saturn Never Sleeps reached out to their friends including me and Illvibe Collective to contribute music to the We Love Kool Herc Compilation, assembled to raise funds for the legendary DJ. Now that his expenses have been covered, the comp is available for free download below. Also featured on the album is Dego, Jneiro Jarel, Hezekiah, Ursula Rucker, Dam-Funk and more. Enjoy.
