Jay-Z and Kanye released a Bananas track last week called Otis. I’m sure most of you have heard it by now. Today, Hezekiah and Ishe released their take on the song. Pete Rock, King Britt, Pete Rosenberg, and others are saying this version is better than Jay & Ye’s version. I’m digging this rework for sure. And these two work extremely fast! Whew.

Power 99 Presents: The Movement Live

Yesterday I joined my man Hezekiah and Kia “Sakz” Norton for a short performance at Power 99fm. They’ve been doing The Movement Live Series all summer long featuring acts like Ethel Cee, Writtenhouse, Chill Moody and others who are making a lot of noise in Philly at the moment.

Shout out to Tazz Daddy, Amy, and the folks at the station for inviting us to get down. We had fun. Aquil and Dave Ghetto are among the artists being featured in the coming weeks. Peep the recorded UStream clip from yesterday here.

Hezekiah Ishe Project Out Today!

Today, Hezekiah and Ishe released their debut project on Hezekiah’s own 3 Crates label. The project is the perfect marriage of soul music, hip-hop, electronic flavor, and reggae. Most of the project was recorded in just a few days. Hezekiah obviously has a rich musical history and a catalogue of internationally recognized albums. Ishe, a new talent, is a beautiful soulful singer from San Diego California. She can also be found on the Illvibe Collective debut album. These two are super talented and just because they work fast in the studio doesn’t mean the music quality suffers.
