Tomorrow night I have the opportunity to join other great DJs at Fluid Nightclub for the Boom Bap party. Boogie Blind from the X-Ecutioners is coming through while he’s on a short break from his world tour with Pharoahe Monch. Also playing will be the Boom Bap crew, Lil’ Dave, Apple Juice, and Case Bloom. It’s sure to be a good time as we explore hip-hop gems from the past and present. RSVP Below.

This weekend I’ll be joining Case Bloom, Lil’ Dave, Apple Juice, and DJ Boogie Blind (X-Men) at Fluid for the Boom Bap party. The Boom Bap crew have been doing the event here and in Nashville for a minute now and from what I hear, it’s always a stone groove. Here’s a lil something to inspire you all for a Boom Bap kind of weekend.

This is a promo mix I did a lil while ago which ran on radio stations in Australia, Austria and South Africa. Quick 30 minute mix of some of my favorite hip-hop classics.

Little Brother Concert & After Party

Folks. It feels great to be back in Philly. Especially since there is so much to do. This weekend is gonna be off the chain.

Phonte, Big Pooh, and 9th Wonder made everyone fall in love with hip-hop all over again with their 2003 release of The Listening. Since then, Tay and Pooh have released 3 more albums as Little Brother and several side projects including the Grammy nominated Foreign Exchange. These guys are some of the hardest working dudes in hip-hop. But it’s not all hustle and swag. Little Brother is extremely dope. If you don’t know, you are really missing out. Get involved ASAP. Unfortunately, their most recent release, Left Back, is also their final release as Little Brother, which also means, their touring as Little Brother is no doubt limited as well. This could be the last time catching them as a group in Philly and it’s at a dope venue. Come to the TLA and enjoy the show. I’m also on the bill alongside, Truck North and Dice Raw of the Money Makin Jam Boys and Roots Crew.

Directly, following the show, go right down the street to Fluid for the official After Party that I’ll be guest DJing with my man Mike Nyce at the now legendary Tasty Treats party. Still going strong, Tasty Treats has been the home of dope music weekly for a decade with guest DJs like Kool Herc, Jazzy Jeff, Cash Money, Rich Medina, Biz Markie, Marly Marl and the list can go on for weeks. Make sure you’re in the house. Everytime, Mike and I get together, there’s some tomfoolery in the DJ booth. Also my homegirl Candace is celebrating her 40th birthday. Definitely a special night!

TASTY TREATS This Saturday!

This Saturday night, I will be joining 9th Wonder and resident DJ Mike Nyce at Philadelphia’s longest running hip-hop weekly party, Tasty Treats. It’s also the album release party for Ethel Cee’s DIRTY SAMPLES EP. Not to mention celebrating 10 years of Okayplayer so I know it’s going to be bananas. Shout out to Flygirrl, Questlove, Mike Nyce, and Yamean Allworld for holding it down weekly for 10 years. That is not an easy task, especially in Philadelphia playing music that is not top 100 billboard shit. Congratulations y’all. Here’s to 10 more years and then 10 more. We gonna be old and decrepit, still dancing and having a blast. Info below:::

Recess Tonight – Fluid Friday

Sup Y’all. I will be playing a last minute gig at Recess Lounge in Old City. The jam is from 9pm-1am. Friday, me and the homie DJ Aktive return to Fluid Nightclub for the Christmas/Pre NYE party called All W-Rapped Up with Boombastics Inc. It’s gonna be a stone groove. Hope to see some of y’all out at both. And of course, we get down at The Walnut Room on Saturday. Lots of parties to set us up properly for New Year’s Eve.
