This weekend was a load of fun. Friday night I went to Soulville at Elena’s in West Philly to hear the 84 crew and DJ Cash Money killing the all 45 set. Always good to hang with famalam. Afterwards, I went to Fluid to celebrate my man Oronde’s birthday. Anyone who is a regular at Fluid knows Oronde pretty well. We’ve been friends for about 10 years now and it was great to come hang on the homie’s birthday.

Saturday night I rocked the house at the Walnut Room as per usual. Big up to all who came through including my friends Bunmi, Scipher, DJ Phsh, Scanz, and even Bill Bellamy who stayed the entire night kicking it with everyone who wanted to share some jokes and take some photos with him and his crew.

Sunday night we did the Atypical Noise Makers event at the Painted Bride which was mostly friends and family. Mad fun to do something different in Philly. Hezekiah, Ryat, and I each did short performances and shared our creative process with the audience. Here’s a short clip of some of my video set courtesy of the Freekugly Lifestyle Group.

What a week! First off, one love to all the folks who came out to check Mr. Lif and I in Boston and Pittsburgh this past weekend.  The shows were mad fun. Big up to all the folks who supported the merch, especially.  For the first time, I brought out the official Mr. Sonny James T-Shirts and people were very supportive. Nice one. While I was away, my man, DJ Phillee Blunt held it diggy down at The Walnut Room. Thanks dude. Within the past few days, I’ve been to back and forth to NYC, DC, Philly, Boston, and Pittsburgh playing and enjoying events. Here are some pics.

Congratulations to the legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff for making it into this game.  Usually people overlook his contributions outside of Philly but I’m glad to see this was not the case on DJ Hero.  I cannot stop playing Guitar Hero with my kid and this game right here is sure to have me locked in front of the TV for plenty of sleepless nights.  Oh boy… Check it out…

This past weekend was something else. The homie DJ Aktive and I had loads of fun at Bunmi’s birthday party at Fluid. It was out of hand at one point. Great food, cake, tequila, and plenty of women shakin it. What more could the Boom ask for? We may even have to do something on the regular. Very successful event. The following night at The Walnut Room was no different. It was great to see al the familar faces in the place and my mellow Fame One held me down on the mic as well. It was one of best nights I’ve had in a while. Let’s keep on keepin on. This week I’m in the studio working on mixes for this Illvibe Record and doing a guest mix for DJ Jamad’s Sirius show. Always a pleasure to do the thing with the homie Jamad. This Wednesday, I’ll be performing with Hezekiah & Amanda Diva at Silk City then heading over to guest DJ with my lil bro DJ Phsh at his insane weekly throwdown, SUPERDOPE. Be there.
