Folks. Stop putting your kids on leashes. Maybe if you exercised some discipline, you wouldn't be terrified of them running off without you?05:07:32 PM August 28, 2010from twidroid
Here is another installment in D-Nice’s True Hip Hop Stories series. In previous clips, he has interviewed Big Daddy Kane, Special Ed, Buckshot, Monie Love and more speaking about their classic recordings and appearances. You can catch more True Hip Hop Stories here. Certified dope.
One of my favorite jams at the moment is not even a new jam. Ruff & Tuff by Tettory Bad and Paul Randolph is probably 2 years old at this point but I never knew there was a video for it. I just stumbled upon and had to share it for all my progressive soul music heads. The song is also featured on the latest Difference Radio Podcast. Check out both.
Thank you to everyone who has downloaded, streamed, and shared the Illvibe Blends album. Great feedback so far and we thank you all for checking it. There are more coming and we’ll be soon leaking a video mix of the album.
A remix by DJ Lil’ Dave from the Illvibe Blends Compilation released July 13, 2010. For more information and free download, please visit http://www.illvibe.bandcamp.com
Tonight, if you’re in Philadelphia, be sure to check out the homie DJ Phsh at Dutty Chutney at Fluid. It’s one of my favorite parties in the city featuring the illest dancehall reggae, bhangra, hip-hop, and r&b. A true multicultural soiree. I hope you checked the blog yesterday and got your tix for the Heineken Inspire event. it’s gonna be poppin off.
Also come and get down with me at The Walnut Room as well. We’ve been rocking weekly for a year and a half and the energy is always bananas. Special guests will be rocking with me and in my place for the next few weeks. More details coming soon so stay tuned.
Finally, my heart goes out to my long time friend and colleague, DJ Randy Flash who was caught in the crossfire in North Philly this week. A fuggin idiot, shooting on the street, hit 7 people including Randy. I hear he’s in critical condition and in a coma in the hospital. Please keep him in your thoughts and say a prayer for his recovery. If you know Randy, you know he’s one of the nicest dudes in the music scene in Philly or elsewhere. I hope he pulls through like a warrior.
