Welcome To Uglyville (The Mixtape)
Peace everyone.
For those of you who’ve been following my blogs for a few years, you may be familar with with the various mixtapes I’ve done. One of the most fun mixtapes series I’ve taken on is for the Freekugly LIfestyle Brand. We first did Volume 1 in 2006 shortly after the brand launched and there was a ton of positive feedback all over the city. We decided to do Part 2 in 2009 when my long time friend Kariem started rebranding Freekugly and taking things to the next level. Now the brand is rapidly moving, with placements in several boutiques, on Karmaloop and generating interest all over the planet on the web. We brought in my Illvibe comrade DJ Phsh and Philadelphia MC and swag expert, The Show to rock out even harder. Fresh out the studio, we bring you FU3, Welcome To Uglyville, The Mixtape.

Recently, I posted the brand new single by my comrades RJD2 and Aaron Livingston, Going And Going. And Going. The tune is the lead from their collaborative album “The Abandoned Lullaby” under the project name of Icebird. RJ reached out and gave me and Illvibe the privilege of remixing the single and the response by those who’ve heard it so far is overwhelming. Me and Lil’ Dave produced this joint together and brought in my bro, Hezekiah to add some piano. One love to RJ and Aaron for the opportunity to fall on new ears and thank you to the folks who’ve been playing it and spreading the love.

Today, Hezekiah and Ishe released their debut project on Hezekiah’s own 3 Crates label. The project is the perfect marriage of soul music, hip-hop, electronic flavor, and reggae. Most of the project was recorded in just a few days. Hezekiah obviously has a rich musical history and a catalogue of internationally recognized albums. Ishe, a new talent, is a beautiful soulful singer from San Diego California. She can also be found on the Illvibe Collective debut album. These two are super talented and just because they work fast in the studio doesn’t mean the music quality suffers.
