Sup y’all.  One love to everyone who came through to rock with me at Z Bar last night as I sat in for Dozia.  It was kinda wack that the Phillies lost during the party but hey they play in South Philly next so hopefully we’ll have another win there.

Tonight I’m at Walnut Room celebrating my man Damon’s 31st birthday.  I’ve been friends with Dame for nearly 12 years and it’s a pleasure to rock on his b-day.  I’m sure a bunch of BODYROCK alumni will be there to take part.

Tomorrow night, in addition to the Phillies Game being shown at the Walnut Room, there will be a special FUNHOUSE celebration on Halloween which includes an open Vodka bar til 12am.  Be there or be very afraid. Boo!

The homie Rashid Zakat is working on a 30 minute (or so) documentary on my crew. The shorter version is close to finished and will appear on WYBE in a few weeks so look out for it. Since I was working all of last night in the studio, I missed the BET Awards. I probably wouldn’t have been watching them anyway. But while I was finishing up work in the lab, I did read a bunch of feedback on the cyphers they aired during the show featuring Mos Def, Eminem, Black Thought, Joe Budden, Nicki Minaj and more.  Some verses blew me away. Some didn’t. I’ll let you be the judge. This reminds me how important lyrics still are in this game of fashion and trendiness.

This weekend was a load of fun. Friday night I went to Soulville at Elena’s in West Philly to hear the 84 crew and DJ Cash Money killing the all 45 set. Always good to hang with famalam. Afterwards, I went to Fluid to celebrate my man Oronde’s birthday. Anyone who is a regular at Fluid knows Oronde pretty well. We’ve been friends for about 10 years now and it was great to come hang on the homie’s birthday.

Saturday night I rocked the house at the Walnut Room as per usual. Big up to all who came through including my friends Bunmi, Scipher, DJ Phsh, Scanz, and even Bill Bellamy who stayed the entire night kicking it with everyone who wanted to share some jokes and take some photos with him and his crew.

Sunday night we did the Atypical Noise Makers event at the Painted Bride which was mostly friends and family. Mad fun to do something different in Philly. Hezekiah, Ryat, and I each did short performances and shared our creative process with the audience. Here’s a short clip of some of my video set courtesy of the Freekugly Lifestyle Group.
