REST IN PEACE DJ AM

Gone too soon.

For anyone who has ever crossed paths with Adam aka AM, you know he was a talented DJ, a great human being, and an incredible businessman.  Unfortunately I was never granted the privilege of playing records with him and getting to know him personally but I still feel the void left in the Philly DJ community and I respect the asset AM was to the world that lost him too soon.  My condolences go out to all of his close friends and family.  It’s always extremely difficult when someone’s life is cut so short and unexpectedly.  I look forward to seeing some of the MTV episodes in which he recently helped functioning drug addicts get on the road to recovery. Rest in Peace dude and thanks for your contributions…

In addition to the routine of hearing about celebrity deaths, these past couple of months have also been filled with Drake Mania so to speak.  This dude dropped a mixtape early this year that was better than most of the albums out at the time.  When I got introduced to the mixtape on tour, it stayed on repeat for the next 3 months.  One of my favorite joints from it was Successful featuring Trey Songz and Lil’ Wayne.  And finally, there’s a video. Peep.

Big up to my man Lil’ Dave for releasing his first 45 earlier this week on the Record Breakin label.  My man has tons of fire and some of it will be featured on the illvibe LP coming early next year.  For a taste, visit this link.

What a week! First off, one love to all the folks who came out to check Mr. Lif and I in Boston and Pittsburgh this past weekend.  The shows were mad fun. Big up to all the folks who supported the merch, especially.  For the first time, I brought out the official Mr. Sonny James T-Shirts and people were very supportive. Nice one. While I was away, my man, DJ Phillee Blunt held it diggy down at The Walnut Room. Thanks dude. Within the past few days, I’ve been to back and forth to NYC, DC, Philly, Boston, and Pittsburgh playing and enjoying events. Here are some pics.

Finally, for those of you that missed my appearance on the Afromentals Mixshow with DJ Jamad last week, here is the download of the full 2 hour show.  Enjoy it and spread the knowledge.

One love to everyone who rocked out with Mr. Lif and I last night at Boston’s City Hall Plaza.  We had a blast.

Tonight at the Gallery Isada, be there folks.  It will be a rare opportunity to check out the work of all of these talented artists at once.  Plus me and Ultraviolet will be beating the turntables like Andy Kaufman wrestling a woman

Tomorrow night, DJ Phillee Blunt will be playing at The Walnut Room while I get down at the Shadow Lounge in Pittsburgh so make sure you go check him if you’re in Philly this weekend. Pittsburghians, check y’all at Shadow.
