Congratulations to the legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff for making it into this game.  Usually people overlook his contributions outside of Philly but I’m glad to see this was not the case on DJ Hero.  I cannot stop playing Guitar Hero with my kid and this game right here is sure to have me locked in front of the TV for plenty of sleepless nights.  Oh boy… Check it out…

This past weekend was something else. The homie DJ Aktive and I had loads of fun at Bunmi’s birthday party at Fluid. It was out of hand at one point. Great food, cake, tequila, and plenty of women shakin it. What more could the Boom ask for? We may even have to do something on the regular. Very successful event. The following night at The Walnut Room was no different. It was great to see al the familar faces in the place and my mellow Fame One held me down on the mic as well. It was one of best nights I’ve had in a while. Let’s keep on keepin on. This week I’m in the studio working on mixes for this Illvibe Record and doing a guest mix for DJ Jamad’s Sirius show. Always a pleasure to do the thing with the homie Jamad. This Wednesday, I’ll be performing with Hezekiah & Amanda Diva at Silk City then heading over to guest DJ with my lil bro DJ Phsh at his insane weekly throwdown, SUPERDOPE. Be there.

Tonight we rock on at Fluid for my bro Bunmi’s birthday.  He’s been a part of Philly’s soulful party and event scene for years and I’m glad he asked me and the fellas to hold it down tonight.  It’s gonna feel real good up in the place.  DJ Aktive (Scratch Mekaniks & Kanye West), Joey Blanco (Soul Travelers) and myself will be supplying the soundtrack all night making it real funky.  Don’t miss it.  Once I get done showin off at Fluid with me bruddahs, I’ll be heading over late to The Arts Garage to wrap up the night with my other bruddahs at The BODYROCK.  Art Below…

I played last year with Bahamadia and by the time Fat Joe & KRS ONE performed for damn near 2 hours, I had felt every emotion from excitement to being star struck to relief that I had my backstage pass. My man Rich Medina rocks this weekend so get out there if you can. Big up to Crazy Legs too.

I’m a tad late on this but I just finagled a copy of Rich & Bobbito’s new compilation, The Connection Volume One. Plenty of joints on here to keep you rotating your hips in your chair. And for the DJs who have no idea where to find some of these tunes, they’ve done the work for you. Afterall, these dudes have been instrumental in making this music a standard in clubs across the world. There are classics from Blaze, Rob Swift, Raul Midon, Chico Mann, Soul Ascendants, and more. This is the quintessential compilation for cool people looking for that world dance music.
