Live On Stage

Live On Stage

So I’m on the west coast again finally. I love it out here so much I don’t know why I don’t live here yet. I’m here with Lif, Metro, DJ Caliph-Now, Willie Evanz, and Grieves still in the early process of the I Heard It Today Tour. We’re working our way down the coast before heading back east and to the midwest. It hasn’t been all fun and games though. I’m being filled in the stuff I missed when I was working in Philly for a few days including a wack ass promoter in Minneapolis, ignorance running rampant in a nearby restaurant, and more. Tour can be hectic and rewarding. Either way, I wouldn’t trade it. I’m just glad Caliph was available to hold down some of the dates for me while I handled business at home.

Tonight we rock at Neumos in Seattle, WA and tomorrow we head to Portland, Oregon for a show at Holocene.  I hope to see all of my friends in the area out at the shows.

While I’m out here, I will be finishing up the CURE FOR THE COMMON SOUL mixtape with Hezekiah.

It’s gonna feature a lil suh-in for everybody. Aight, Sorry the update is kinda short but I gotta run the streets and enjoy the weather out here. Chea.

Update again shortly.

Lil’ Ricky’s Tonight and more!

Z-Bar

This past weekend at Z-Bar was a lot of fun.  Special thanks to Doz and Brian for inviting me to get down.  Happy Birthday to Rita and one love to the folks who came out to kick it.  It was great to see so much family in the place.

Tonight, I’ll be at Rich Medina’s long running weekly party, Lil’ Ricky’s Ribshack at APT in New York City.  It’s always a good time rocking with Rich’s dedicated following who always want to hear something different and funky.  See y’all tonight as I beat the turntables like they cheated on me.  BTW, I saw them advertising UGK’s album during a segment of Cheaters this morning. lol  I guess there are lots of Texans watching Cheaters to see if they recognize any of the people on there.  Might as well invite them to Trillville.

In other news, Make sure you check out the current Special Edition of The Sure Shot featuring Jay-Ski & Tactics of Pure Elementz & 100.3 The Beat.  Ski is one of my heroes in Philly and always has been an inspiration to DJs here from my generation.  DJ Tactics always got the fresh new flavors and something funny to say on the mic.  I had the pleasure of doing a guest mix for their award winning podcast during the 2nd hour of the show. Click the link above and get some new joints in your life.

Lastly, did any of y’all catch the blatant thievery of Charles Hamilton exposed on the Fresh Selects Blog? Check it for more info.

Black Spade responds to Charles Hamilton

I don’t understand why cants just can’t keep it real and say where they got the beats from.  This is a regular occurence among new artists these days.  That is, to completely disregard the source, take credit, and fool their audience into thinking they have more talent than they do.  One love to Black Spade.  Dude is a monster in the studio.
