Too High, But I Ain’t Left the Ground…

Posted by Sonny James under Artists

Stevie Wonder is that dude!

Simply put,

His show had me close to tears tonight!

Watching 30,000 people or so jump up to get down to the live version of Do I Do was something to see. And in between doing his wide collection of classics and album cuts that we all have grown to love, he had us cracking up with his stories. He was talking to the gigantic crowd like we were sitting in his living room.

I can’t believe the human being he is. Wow!

3 hours and no one I talked to felt like they had just seen a 3 hr show. I could have sat another 3 hours foreal.

I honestly haven’t seen a show that impactful since touring with Mr. Brown last year. (RIP)

The ticket was a gift but let me tell y’all. There are only a few people I would pay over $75 to see and Stevie is at the top of that list right behind Sergio Mendes who I saw with Erin last Thanksgiving in New York.

Some advice…
Stop fronting and use your head…

Pay the $100 bucks or so.
See Stevie.
You won’t regret it.
Afterall, your soul needs it.

So this past weekend’s show with the Roots was bananas. Big up to Purrie and the folks at Swarthmore for making us all feel welcome.

From checking out the Art of Can Redbull Art Gallery and After Party to playing records outside in the cold while kicking it with Johnny Dangerous at the Michael Nutter Mayoral Rally at the Arts Garage, my schedule has been full no doubt.

The next month will be spent in the studio as we’re working on the Illvibe album and various remixes. A gig or two here and there for some checks but we gotta get this finished.
